Bioshock 4 setting and time period leaked by known journalist

Moriarty added that the game will have narrative ties to the previous BioShock trilogy with Cloud Chamber looking forward to releasing the game in 2022.

What is perhaps the most interesting part about Moriarty's video is that he talks about how the studio wants to keep everything a secret. He explained that Cloud Chamber is under the impression that audiences will compare the game to whatever Ken Levine does, which, by the way, is also in development and being published by 2K games.

At this point, BioShock 4 has been in the works since late 2019. However, we don't know if the COVID-19 pandemic had impacted it and if so, by how much. What we do know is that while the original series creator, Ken Levine, is no longer part of BioShock 4, certain legacy members are on board. Case in point, Jonathan spelling, who helped design 2007's BioShock and was the creative director for BioShock Infinite. Meanwhile, Hoady de la Plante is another BioShock alumni and will serve as the game's creative director with Scott Sinclair also back for BioShock 4.

In an earlier article, we covered everything that has been leaked and "revealed" about BioShock 4 over the years. From job postings and listings, we can assume that the next BioShock 4 will be a timed exclusive for the PS5 with a brand-new open-world setting and will lean towards a more RPG-like system.

If Cloud Chamber is targeting a 2022 release for BioShock 4, the studio might reveal more details about the game at TGA 2021 if not sometime in early 2022.
