It has been a long while since xXx: The Return of Xander Cage hit the big screens, and fans have been waiting on a fourth installment for the long-running film series. A new report suggests that the sequel is still in early development at a new studio.
According to a report by Deadline, The H Collective recently launched a new company called H3 Entertainment. In an announcement that sounds disastrous for anyone not an out-of-touch shareholder, the new outfit plans to integrate Metaverse, Web3, and AI into a lineup of films. H3 is reportedly working on a sequel to Brightburn while xXx 4 is also in development at the studio.
A short note at the end of the article reads, "The company's slate has also included a fourth installment in the xXx franchise but there's no update on progress on that project." This confirms that xXx 4 is still in the works but has not yet made it past the early development stage. Fans may have to wait a long while before the release of the sequel.
Film producer Joe Roth said in a 2017 interview with Variety that The H Collective is providing funding for the sequel. "In today's Hollywood, it requires strong partners to produce and finance such big-budget movies as the xXx series, and The H Collective is a welcome and exciting new company that we look forward to working with."
