First you step onto the roomy staircase from the open map, leading you down into a tighter hall broken up by a few arches that takes long-rage weapons out of the game, eventually culminating in the platforms with the little room where it's all about CQC.

Stations are going to be guaranteed combat hot zones, not only because of the access they provide to the trains, but because they will also house exciting loot and contracts. If you're the first to hit the station, you're guaranteed to find some treasures that will give you an edge - unless the station ends up being your grave. When you're in a station, you'll need to watch out for ambushed, flanks and traps set by other squads.

An easy to forget, but all the more important, feature of these uniform stations is the escape hatch. A tiny hatch and a ladder provide direct access to the surface from the platforms, meaning you can get out in a pinch without going through the exposed hall and staircase. Keep in mind that enemies can enter through the hatch too, or simply drop a grenade on your head. Keeping an eye on the escape hatch can be the deciding factor in a shootout. Trains Despite being veritably ancient, the metro trains servicing the Verdansk subway have some really smart tech built in. First of all, if there's any combat going on in the trains or on the platform, the subway will deactivate itself, making these areas essentially a safe zone. If you want to make use of the public transports, keep the fighting restricted to the hallway and stairs - unless you specifically want to foil an escape attempt.

The other thing these trains detect is circle collapses. If, while you are making use of the metro, the next station finds itself outside the circle, the train will just skip it and travel through without stopping until it reaches the next safe station. We aren't sure what would happen if you, perhaps, started fighting on board the moment the train lines up with the station outside the circle, but it will be an interesting thing to test out.

Now you know how the subway works in Warzone - but how can you turn this to your advantage? There are a few strategies and tactics that will let you turn this new feature to your advantage.

Subway stations will be perfect ambush locations, since players are guaranteed to flock there. If you drop near a subway station, a good play wouldn't be rushing it, but rather taking up positions to kill whoever does. Have one member of your squad ready at the escape hatch, and hide near the entrance. When you see the other squad move into the station, attack them from behind, while the buddy at the hatch can toss down grenades, or climb down to flank.

Another ambush tactic works best if there is visible loot in the staircase or hall sections of the station. Leave the loot untouched, and move into the platform. When another squad comes to investigate the station, seeing untouched supplies will make them assume nobody went there before them, so you'll get the drop when they bumble into the platform area.

Once you've cleared out a station, make sure to leave some surprised for other squads, like mines and similar triggered weaponry. Make sure to utilize the metro when contracts require you to cross the map, because this is by far the fastest method - just mind the gap, as falling onto the electric tracks will fry you immediately, leaving any equipment you drop unrecoverable by your mates.
