Call of Duty: Warzone Season 6 Revealed, Coming September 29

VGD S ANNOUNCEMENT warzone season

Though a tournament organised by a Call of Duty League team already spoiled the release date of Season 6 in Warzone and Modern Warfare, the official announcement finally gives us a glimpse of what to expect in terms of content.

New operators, a functioning subway system and more are coming to Verdansk on the 29th of September, introduced to us in a fancy new trailer.

As usual, the new season will also bring with it a new battle pass, but we haven't quite gotten a full feature run-down yet. What we do know is that Farah - long overdue! - is joining the fight as an operator, as is Nikolai.

Farah, returning from the singleplayer campaign under the aegis of the Allegiance, is an instant unlock, whereas you gain access to Nikolai at Rank 100. Both new operators come with a set of skins for you to unlock.

The big change hitting Verdansk in Season 6 is the new subway system. Conveniently reactivated by Nikolai in the trailer, the system connects seven stations spread across the map, allowing players to cross large distances quickly. That said, the subway stations are bound to be combat hot zones, and the tight corridors and claustrophobic tunnels will be dangerous to traverse.

This new tactical factor will shake up the Warzone meta, and we're curious how players will incorporate it into their strategies.

We can expect more updates regarding Season 6's content soon. Infinity Ward has yet to reveal what new weapons, game modes and MP content will be included in the September 29 release. It seems Season 6 isn't yet bringing any ties to Cold War yet, but with the next game having a November launch we suspect at least one more season after 6 to bridge the narrative between the two eras.

Stay tuned for more news about Call of Duty: Warzone Season 6.
