It appears that Ubisoft isn't done releasing free-to-play shooters just yet. After announcing XDefiant and The Division: Heartland earlier this year, Ubisoft just confirmed that it's set to release another free-to-player shooter. However, unlike the aforementioned shooters, which mostly feature squad-based objective gameplay, the upcoming Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Frontline title will be a PvP-focused affair with support for up to 100 players.

What is Ghost Recon Frontline?

Ghost Recon Frontline is a live service free-to-play shooter with multiple game modes. However, for its initial reveal, Ubisoft chose to highlight one mode specifically. Expedition is essentially the game's take on the standard battle royale formula. In it, players will team up in groups of three and drop in a huge open-world island map, Drakemoor. The map will feature dynamic objectives and is home to several biome types.

Also, unlike standard battle royale games, Expedition will feature players doing other activities as well. For example, players can gather and protect intel, as well as take down enemies and interrogate them for the whereabouts of their teammates.
