Naughty Dog's The Last of Us raised the bar for video game narratives and arguably only its sequel has come close. Nearly a decade after the game first came out, HBO's take on the award-winning video game is looking to do the same for TV shows.

As per The Last of Us fan account, a behind-the-scenes set video from the in-production live-action adaptation of HBO's The Last of Us shows a scene involving Joel and Ellie that looks like it was ripped straight from the video games.

With a rumored budget of $10 million per episode, fans have high expectations for HBO's The Last of Us. When you take a look at the video and the earlier teaser, HBO's The Last of Us will deliver. But, of course, it's premature to judge a show or movie based on a video game from a few snippets. Even with the involvement of series creator, Neil Druckmann, as well as Craig Mazin, Cherbyl's writer, HBO still hasn't released a trailer.

Speaking of release, production on The Last of Us should start wrapping up any day now. After filming started last summer, Pedro Pascal's latest update suggests that everything is going well for the show that will also feature "clickers and spores", just like the source material.
