Take-Two CEO Reveals GTA 6 Announcement Clue

In the case of Grand Theft Auto V, Rockstar simply tweeted "#GTAV" on October 2011 and showed the game's logo via the company website. The game then released in September 2013. Meanwhile, for Red Dead Redemption 2, they took to Twitter once again, this time showing a teaser image for the game in October 2016 and the game would go on to release in November 2018.

While Zelnick's statement does not confirm the existence of GTA 6, it doesn't deny it either. Furthermore, it does suggest that GTA 6 is still ways away from being released.

There is also the possibility that GTA 6 is purposely taking their time to make sure that the game is not delayed nor as controversial. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QkkoHAzjnUs Both GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 were delayed multiple times throughout their development. The latter, in particular, was delayed the longest. It went from an initial release date of fall 2017 to being released in November of 2018. Not to mention, it was subject to much controversy prior to and during its release, and the game was apparently plagued by poor working conditions. In some reports, members of the development team had to put in as many as 100 hours in a single week.

With that said, it is in Rockstar's interest to reveal the game only when it is truly ready.

Unfortunately, if our speculations are true, then it might be a while before we see Rockstar reveal Grand Theft Auto 6, however they want to choose it.

If it's any consolation though, Rockstar doesn't seem interested in stopping support for Grand Theft Auto V anytime soon. The 2013 title is due to get a next-gen version for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S/X with Grand Theft Auto Online releasing as a standalone title.
