Get ready to raise some hell in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: Warzone Season 06, as Todd McFarlane’s Spawn brings fire and brimstone to the battlefield.
Spawn is the titular anti-hero protagonist of the comic book of the same name. Created by Todd McFarlane, Spawn was part of the Image Comics Revolution in the 1990s, when he along with other mega-hit Marvel Comics creators such as Jim Lee, Erik Larsen, Rob Liefeld, Whilce Portacio, Marc Silvestri, and Jim Valentino, created their own comic book publishing imprint.
The breakaway allowed McFarlane and the other Image Comics founders creative and financial freedom, although some of the art and storylines (particularly the sex and violence) were extremely mature and borderline XXX-rated content for that generation in the comics industry. Regardless, Spawn was a runaway success, with toylines, a feature film, and video games under his name.
But What does Al Simmons (aka Spawn) have in store for Activision’s COD: MW II and Warzone? Check out the details below.
Spawn’s creator Todd McFarlane shared the news himself on his social media, such as Facebook and X (formerly Twitter).
Can’t WAIT for you folks to see this!!

The announcement coincides with COD: Modern Warfare II and Warzone Season 06: The Haunting. As described on the official Call of Duty website:
The hell-cursed anti-hero Spawn arrives in Season 06, tasked with taking out the Dark Ritual Operators across Al Mazrah and Vondel. Plus, four new Multiplayer maps at launch, three new functional weapons, the return of The Haunting, and more.
Furthermore, the COD crossover with the popular Image Comics antihero will have the pre-Hellspawn transformation Al Simmons as a new operator by purchasing the Battle Pass.
“A deal with the devil is fulfilled in Season 06’s Battle Pass. Witness U.S. Security Group assassin Al Simmons’ transformation into the legendary antihero Spawn. Unlock further Spawn-themed rewards and Operator Skins throughout the pass, including additional visitors from the Underworld.”
“Born in Detroit, Michigan, Simmons grew up to become a skilled assassin and military intelligence officer who was then betrayed by his former colleagues and murdered during a mission. Sent to Hell for his work as an assassin, he made a deal with the devil to return to Earth as none other than Spawn.”
Aside from the Al Simmons operator, the Battle Pass will include variant Operators and skins. Spawn (New Operator Tier 0 and Tier 100 Skin), Burned Spawn (Al Simmons Skin), Creepy Clown (Fender Skin), Violator (König Skin), Disruptor (Horangi Skin), Soul Crusher (Vega Skin), and Nikto Spawn (Nikto Skin).
What makes this news even sweeter is that the iconic voice of the ex-Mercenary turned Hellspawn superhero Keith David will be reprising the role. Keith David has been the staple voice actor of Spawn since the 1997-1999 HBO animated series, and has graciously returned to the role in other video games including Mortal Kombat 11.

But Spawn isn’t the only one joining in on the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II and Warzone Halloween party. Inarius and Lilith (Diablo), Skeletor (Masters of the Universe), Ash Williams (Evil Dead 2), Alucard (Hellsing), and DOOM (as a weapon bundle) are all coming to the COD licensed store offerings.
And the best part: You will be able to carry over your Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II content to the upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III when it launches later this year.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II Season 06 launches on September 27, 2023.
