Sony bringing some exciting games to PS Plus subscribers next month, and we’ve got to say that it feels a lot like the calm before the storm.
The first and biggest game of the trio, Grid Legends, is the latest addition to Codemasters’ iconic racing franchise. With its cinematic storytelling, cross-platform multiplayer, and a surprisingly robust track creation suite, Grid Legends is an excellent entry if a forgettable one. Still, Grid Legends should be plenty enough of fun for those looking for a quick, high-speed thrill ride.
Now, if putting the pedal to the metal isn’t up your alley, you can check Descenders. The downhill cycling game is all about the adrenaline rush you get when going down some of the most picturesque procedurally generated tracks out there. Its effective implementation of a roguelike system, coupled with a plethora of bike customization options, makes Descenders an easy game to pick up but a challenging one to master.
The last game is Chivalry 2, a medieval multiplayer game that puts you in the shoes of a warrior fighting for survival on one massive battlefield. Capable of supporting up to 64 players with a diverse class system, Chivalry 2 will take you deep into the dark ages and make you feel what it’s like to live when your every step could be your last. As a bonus, you can troll your opponents by trampling them to death on top of a horse.
PS Plus subscribers have plenty more to look forward to next month. If you’re subscribed to the Extra or Premium tiers, you can check out Humanity when it’s out on May 16.
The upcoming puzzle game promises to be as bizarre as the name implies. If nothing else, you’ll waste some time checking out to see if shepherding humanity to survival as a Shiba Inu is right for you.
All told, May 2023 isn’t the best month for PS Plus subscribers. The PS Plus Collection is also leaving on May 9. But, there’s a catch – Sony is reportedly scheduled to hold a PlayStation Showcase sometime next month. Sony might be preparing for a much larger set of offerings in June and/or a more extensive infusion of incoming games for the Extra and Premium tiers in the middle of May.
We’re pretty sure a massive list of new games for the Extra and Premium library makes a hell of a highlight for a PlayStation Showcase.
In any case, make sure that you claim last month’s freebies before the new batch replaces them on May 2.
