A handful of the world's largest video game franchises and their respective developers are synonymous with the PlayStation brand, even though they're not technically owned by Sony. Konami isn't an exception. In recent years, Konami and the old guards of the gaming industry have opened their doors, releasing some of their biggest games on other platforms. But, a recent report suggests that Sony and Konami are going back to what previously worked for both companies.
According to Windows Central's Jez Corden, he's "heard" that Sony and Konami have shaken hands on what's presumably an exclusivity deal for "Silent Hill, Metal Gear, and maybe even a new Castlevania."
Silent Hill, Metal Gear, and Castlevania are three of Konami's biggest franchises and most of them, save for Castlevania, got started on the PlayStation.
Silent Hill, in particular, was mostly exclusive to the PlayStation platform except perhaps the latest trio of entries, Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, and Metal Gear Survive.
We're already aware that Konami is all-in on reviving Silent Hill, spearheaded by the PS5-exclusive Silent Hill 2 Remake and a live-action reboot based on Silent Hill 2. Thus, it would make sense for Konami to do the same thing to Metal Gear and Castlevania.
