The directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, who make up half of the founders of Radio Silent Productions, rose to prominence for their work on Ready or Not in 2019. Since then, the directing duo has worked on successfully reviving the Scream franchise, starting with last year's Scream V and the soon-to-be record-setting Scream VI, which critics and fans are absolutely loving. But, this doesn't mean they don't want to go back to where it all started.
As per a recent interview with ComicBook.com, Bettinelli-Olpin, and Gillettt said they "would love to" do a sequel to Ready or Not.
The pair said the same thing last year while going around doing press tours for Scream V, so the only question now is, is Ready or Not 2 happening? If so, when?
Unfortunately, we shouldn't expect to see the follow-up anytime soon. Scream 6 should light up the global box office in its opening weekend following rave reviews leading up to its premiere. The duo is guaranteed to come back to do Scream 7, so Ready or Not 2 won't happen until at least 2025, if not later.
