Fans are pleased by the reworked Shipment map coming to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 with the latest update

Adding Shoot House with the initial release of Season 1 was a great move, followed up by the addition of fan favorite, Shipment, in this mid-season update. It was only right for the developing team to try and recapture the magic that these maps attributed to, creating one of the best map playlists in Modern Warfare 2019 in Shoot the Ship. And thankfully for everyone affected, this version of Shipment has vastly improved from the Vanguard iteration of the map.

As for the map, it wouldn't be a CoD title without Shipment. The map premiered in Call of Duty 4, released all the way back in 2007. Since then, we have seen different and larger versions of it in Modern Warfare 2019 and Vanguard. Those two iterations of the map introduced a new mechanic in terms of verticality, where players could climb up shipping containers and boxes across the map. This feature only amplified the "small-map" problems.

That's why in this remastered version of the map, the developers have promised to "keep the battle on the ground floor". More importantly, Shipment in Modern Warfare 2 will take place on a large cargo ship that's already out at sea. A dark rainy night might negatively impact visibility but it's a worthy tradeoff for the mood and atmosphere it brings. With large cargo containers towering across the map and angled crates providing safer spawns, there is a lot more coverage in this version of the map.

Head glitch spots still exist, but at least there are no destructible boards like in Vanguard. With KorTac forces spawning in the northeast part of the map, known as the "Bridge Side", competition should be fierce when they reach the center of the map. There they will face off against the SpecGru forces that are spawning on the opposite southwestern side of the map known as the "Drug Stash".

In the Domination game mode in Modern Warfare 2, the center of the map will contain the capture point, guaranteeing no chances for peace. The wider and more spacious layout of the center of the map has also been a positive change, although you will still die to players lying on the floor due to the number of corpses they tend to blend with.

Players from across the world have echoed the same sentiment, with positive replies and opinions being shared throughout the internet. A small fraction of the player base voiced their concerns about the removal of a feature that allowed the movement aspect of the game to impact the outcome. But those were probably the players that enjoyed sniping from the high ground and spawn killing like menaces to society. The addition of drill charges should in theory also help with campers holding angles in containers. But the community fears that players will quickly find ways to exploit the item, making it overused.

All in all, Activision Blizzard have done a masterful job with the latest update, giving nostalgic players an opportunity of a lifetime by adding new content.
