The list of games slated to be released in 2023 is expanding rapidly and we couldn't be happier about it. But most of the talk right now is geared up toward the VR2 headset from PlayStation, which should be one of the biggest launches kicking off the year in February. A growing number of highly anticipated games are slated to be available with the release of the new headset. One of them being Resident Evil Village with the VR version of it will be available for download as a free DLC to existing owners.
The decision was recently confirmed by Capcom producer Kanda Tsuyoshi, in the latest PlayStation blog. In it he details the launch date for the VR mode of Resident Evil Village as being February 23, 2023, coinciding with the PS VR2 headset release date. Regardless of if you have the regular or Gold edition of the game, you can download and play it as soon as you receive your headset.
This news comes as a pleasant surprise when you consider how much effort Capcom must have invested in making the VR version of Village as immersive as possible. That's possible due to the eye-tracking technology and 3D audio implemented in this system.
In the same blog Tsuyoshi, the producer of Resident Evil Village, revealed the VR version of the game will fully utilize the 4K HDR (2000 x 2040 per eye) display that the PS VR2 will support.
