Many players have reported that the Mad Chainsaw Mode can be accessed after finishing the demo and starting over. According to the game's description, the Mad Chainsaw Mode will only apply to a single playthrough and players will have to wait for the mode to be triggered again for another attempt.
The mode is also specific to the demo and will not be included in the final release of Resident Evil 4 Remake. The Mad Chainsaw Mode lives up to its name and makes the demo extremely difficult to complete. A big zombie wielding a chainsaw chases you around the town in this secret challenge.
While at first, it seemed that the Mad Chainsaw Mode was triggered at random, players have found a way to access it through a series of button prompts. YouTuber 7rayD shared that the hidden mode can be activated on the PlayStation by holding down the L1 and R1 buttons, followed by pressing Up, Left, Down, Right, Square Triangle, Circle, X, and then X again to start the demo from the menu screen.
