We've got good news for James Bond fans. The franchise's long-time producer, Barbara Broccoli, just provided an update.
In an interview with Deadline, Broccoli revealed that the studio is not rushing the search for a successor to Daniel Craig.
Here's what Broccoli had to say about the next James Bond:
We're working out where to go with him, we're talking that through. There isn't a script and we can't come up with one until we decide how we're going to approach the next film because, really, it's a reinvention of Bond. We're reinventing who he is and that takes time. I'd say that filming is at least two years away.
James Bond is a cinematic staple after Sean Connery first starred as the suave and debonair secret agent James Bond in 1963's Dr. No. Several actors have taken on the mantle since Connery.
The most recent actor to play Craig, and the most commercially successful one, is Daniel Craig. The 54-year-old actor first portrayed James Bond in 2006's Casino Royale and ended his run with last year's No Time to Die, which set a then-record global box office take of $733 million.
