, you can't help but speculate that something really is going on.

Previously, it was said that Konami

had big plans

for E3 2023. Now that it's

canceled

, Konami could have tapped one of its longest-running partners.

It's looking more and more likely that it's only a matter of time before Sony confirms this month's PlayStation Showcase.

We previously reported on a rumor that several first-party studios are already prepared to showcase whatever they've been working on in the past few years. Given that it's been nearly two years since Sony has hosted a PlayStation Showcase, fans are understandably excited to see what else Sony has planned for the PlayStation 5 now that more and more games are no longer coming out on last-gen consoles.

Regardless of whether a PlayStation Showcase with the Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake in it is happening or not, Sony has plenty to reveal.
