While Konami refuses to talk about two of its biggest upcoming games, PlayStation has no such problems.
In a surprising turn of events, PlayStation, via a promotional video and a new page, just confirmed that Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is coming out sometime this year.
The remake of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater isn't exclusive to the PlayStation platform, which Xbox so clearly pointed out in its initial reveal. However, Metal Gear is closely associated with the PlayStation brand, which might explain why Sony is getting first dibs on this reveal. It's also possible that it has exclusive marketing rights to the upcoming game, which could also mean that it may have PlayStation-exclusive content.
As previously mentioned, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is a remake of the classic Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. The game was first announced at a PlayStation Showcase back in May 2023, and later, in-engine gameplay footage was shared at an Xbox Partner Preview in October. Konami has stated that this remake aims to be a "faithful recreation of the original story and game design," evolving the gameplay experience with improved visuals and a seamless user experience. Fans can expect "unprecedented graphics and immersive sound," making for a visually impressive remake. Finally, despite the attempt to modernize the game, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater will feature the original voice acting of the classic 2004 title, including the return of David Hayter.
