Video game developers and publishers very rarely announce anything on New Year's Eve if at all. But, for some reason, Starbreeze Studios and Overkill thought it was a good idea for a game to be announced amidst all the "new year, new me" posts over on most social media. Surprisingly enough, it worked, and Payday fans are now hyped that they'll get a chance to play the threequel sooner rather than later.
The developers and publisher beat everyone to the first release date reveal news of the year with a short teaser video as well as a link for players to wishlist the game on Steam.
According to the announcement, Payday 3 will be out on consoles and on PC later this year, which is a full decade since Payday 2 came out.
Here's the game's official description: PAYDAY 3 is the much anticipated sequel to one of the most popular co-op shooters ever. Since its release, PAYDAY-players have been reveling in the thrill of a perfectly planned and executed heist. That's what makes PAYDAY a high-octane, co-op FPS experience without equal.
