We're now less than two months away from the 94th Academy Awards on March 27, and as we inch closer to the prestigious awards show, all the nominees has been revealed. We do not doubt that fans will feel disappointed that Spider-Man: No Way Home did not get much recognition. But, if it's any consolation, Dune has a huge shot at stealing at least one award from typical critical darlings.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Marvel Studios' latest blockbuster film will compete against No Time to Die, Free Guy, and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings in the Best Visual Effects category. Meanwhile, Denis Villeneuve's live-action adaptation of Dune is second across all films with 10 Oscar nominations.

Dune, which is confirmed to get a sequel next year after filming starts in July, has been nominated for the Best Picture award alongside Licorice Pizza, West Side Story, King Richard, CODA, Belfast, and The Power of the Dog.

After the last weekend, No Way Home is set to break the $1.8 billion mark at the global box office. Unfortunately, just because a film is a huge hit doesn't mean that it's going to win awards. Marvel Studios knows this plight all too well as No Way Home is just one of the few MCU films to be nominated for an Oscar award. But, while No Way Home is not in the running for Best Picture, Marvel Studios has a shot at the Best Visual Effects category with two films nominated.
