It's been quite a while since we saw Hobbits, Uruks, Dwarves, and Elves, populate the big screen from Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit trilogies. Since then, fans have been wondering when more of Mordor will arrive in movie theaters. Although we don't know exactly when J.R.R. Tolkien's books are going to get a movie adaptation next, we do know that the award-winning books are headed to Amazon Prime Video soon.

We've known about The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power for years. Finally, a few weeks ago, Amazon Prime Video dropped a teaser trailer for the upcoming fantasy TV show while confirming its title. Now, it appears that we're going to see more of The Rings of Power soon at Super Bowl LVI on Sunday.

According to the TV show's official Instagram account, audiences will get a more extensive look at The Rings of Power on Sunday. Millions of eyes will be glued to screens watching the game between the Los Angeles Rams and the Cincinnati Bengals, which is the perfect opportunity to spread the word about the show. Unfortunately, Amazon did not announce when exactly the Lord of the Rings trailer will go up, but it shouldn't be after the game starts at 6:30 EST.

Super Bowl Sunday is always a draw and this year should not be any different. In addition to The Rings of Power, there are reports that Marvel Studios and the DCEU will share new footage for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Black Adam, respectively. Not to mention, there's a laundry list of upcoming shows and movies that could make an appearance, including Obi-Wan Kenobi on Disney+, which will reportedly premiere in May, and Moon Knight, among many others.

The events of The Rings of Power is set a thousand years before Frodo got his hands on the One Ring.

Having said that, we're hoping that Amazon Prime Video has something big planned for Super Bowl Sunday. Technically, The Rings of Power does not need an event to build hype, regardless if it's as huge as Super Bowl Sunday. However, since it's going to be there, Amazon Prime Video might as well make an impression.

In other news, Season 3 of The Boys finally got a release date earlier this year. The critically-acclaimed superhero satire series will be back with a brand new season on June 3, 2022. Before then, fans can munch on The Boys: Diabolical, an animated spin-off that will be out on March 4.
