Nintendo confirmed that it would release a Switch OLED model themed after the upcoming exclusive game, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. But, while this was a celebrated announcement, one employee couldn't help themselves from posting it online beforehand.

As per Kotaku, GameStop fired Mike on April 11, close to two weeks following the end of the showcase. The interesting part is what lengths Nintendo went to make this happen. As per the same report, Nintendo claims to have traced the leak back from December to Mike and his other social media accounts. The multi-billion-dollar video game company was then said to have "forced the company's hand, demanding the employee be terminated over the leak."

Kotaku explains that an unnamed GameStop employee corroborated the story and that Mike's manager had told him that Nintendo, his favorite company, now hates him.

So, yeah, tough luck for Mike, who probably didn't see this coming.
