At one point, talking about the Avatar sequels felt like a running gag - something that you'd use to describe stuff that would never happen. However, after a decade of going through the constant cycle of making headlines about production starting and then only to be delayed, it appears that James Cameron's record-setting film from 2009 is finally, actually going to get a follow-up.
The Avatar sequels are starting to feel more real
recently had a chance to sit down and talk to Cameron about how long it took for the Avatar sequels to gain traction. "Kind of crazy" was how Cameron described the ordeal, although that probably doesn't capture just how much of a roller coaster ride it must have been for the award-winning director. Don't forget, Avatar 2 was already being planned as early as 2012 with at least three more Avatar films also on the way.
