Say what you will about the recent outings, but the Terminator franchise is one of the most iconic and influential film series in history. Terminator has spawned multiple sequels, comic books, novels, as well as TV shows. Unfortunately, it hasn't had too many successful video game adaptations. You could argue that the only one that stands out is 2019's Terminator: Resistance, which got middling reviews. But, just like the iconic T-800 model, studios keep on coming back.
The latest to attempt a proper video game adaptation is Nacon Milan, who will make the "first survival game set in the Terminator universe with an original story building on the events from the films.
Nacon announced the still-untitled open-world survival game at the recent Nacon Connect showcase and it's definitely something.
If you're not familiar with the Terminator franchise, it's a series of mostly good films featuring a post-apocalyptic future where humanity finds itself on the brink of extinction at the hands of its own creations. The 2019 attempt at a soft reboot failed miserably at the global box office, losing Paramount Pictures more than $100 million. The studio canceled all its plans for more sequels following the film's release. Despite this, fans keep on asking to see more of the Terminator.
