Activision has grand ambitions for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, as they should. Infinity Ward set a high bar with 2019's Modern Warfare reboot. On top of this, Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 might be Activision's swan song before Microsoft acquires the company. If nothing else, Activision will want to go out on a high note.
Unfortunately, Activision's vision didn't include safekeeping sensitive information. Case in point, a data miner recently got his hands on maps and images for Modern Warfare 2 and 2024's Call of Duty.
Now, multiple sources claim that the long-rumored DMZ mode is not going to be a separate free-to-play game. Instead, it will be a part of Modern Warfare 2 once it comes out later this year. A dataminer provided screenshots of the DMZ mode for Modern Warfare 2 along with objectives. The said objectives like "Search the marked areas for radioactivity" and "defend the charge until detonation", among others, give players a good idea of what to expect from the incoming game mode for Modern Warfare 2.
In addition to this, Tom Henderson corroborates claims that DMZ mode will be a part of Modern Warfare 2.
