Michelle Rodriguez teases cliffhanger ending for Fast X

This latest statement from one of the franchise mainstays echoes the promise of Fast X director Louis Leterrier that the movie will have a major cliffhanger. The director also teased that the film will be "gigantic, in terms of action, scope, and emotion."

Momoa's Dante, who is seen as the franchise's replacement for Dwayne Johnson, is trying to get revenge against Dom and the rest of the crew. The Toretto team is responsible for taking down his father Hernan Reyes, a Brazillian drug kingpin, who was then executed by Luke Hobbs during the events of Fast Five.

The movie takes place 12 years after Dante witnessed the death of his father, and has always blamed Dom's crew. He has come up with a sinister plan that targets Dom's son Brian, hoping to do as much damage as possible by hurting the family.

It will be interesting to see if Dante becomes part of the team at the end of the movie, like many of the other villains in the franchise. Jason Statham's Deckard Shaw, Luke Evan's Owen Shaw, and John Cena's Jakob Toretto were villains when they first appeared in the movies.

Fast X will be the first entry in the series directed by Louis Leterrier after the departure of Justin Lin. The longtime director of the series reportedly stepped down from the project due to creative differences with Vin Diesel. Leterrier will be directing the final two movies of the franchise.

Fast X is arriving in theaters on May 19, 2023.
