Metal Gear fans have a good reason to feel excited. The word around the campfire is the franchise's long-awaited return is going to include the release of a "Classic Collection" composed of the first three Metal Gear Solid games.

According to Corden, the collection could include the original Metal Gear Solid trio.

Konami previously released the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 back in 2011. The "OG" compilation included the first two Metal Gear games, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence, and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker.

The new collection's announcement might explain why Konami "removed" the original version from the Xbox even though it used to be backward compatible.
