It's unclear why Peace Walker and Metal Gear Solid 4 aren't part of the collection as well as the first two Metal Gear games. The former, especially, since it was in the previous HD Collection. As for Metal Gear Solid 4, the classic PS3 title will remain "stuck" on the PS3 for the foreseeable future.

Of course, as this is all still speculation, it's best to put this information inside a box and wait for an official confirmation.

The good news is that we're waiting on the May 24 PlayStation Showcase, where we could get the official reveal of the Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater remake. Hopefully, by then, the new re-release of the original Metal Gear Solid trilogy will also be confirmed.

Normally, it would be hard to get hyped for Konami to start talking about multiple new entries to a dormant franchise. But, when you consider what happened with Silent Hill last year, you can't just count Konami out anymore.

The only way that this announcement will get better for Metal Gear fans is for Konami to tell everyone that Hideo Kojima is on board as a consultant.
