The Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake is confirmed for the Xbox

Before the start of the showcase, reports claimed that Konami and Sony had struck an exclusivity deal for future projects. Thus, many presumed that this included Metal Gear and Castlevania on top of Silent Hill.

But, we now know that this isn't the case.

Marathon, a "remake" of one of Bungie's first games, is an upcoming sci-fi PvP extraction shooter with full cross-play and cross-save for the PlayStation 5, PC, and the Xbox Series S/X. You'd think Bungie's first non-Destiny and non-Halo project after being acquired by Sony would be exclusive to the PlayStation 5 (or, at least, not be on the Xbox Series S/X).

Microsoft seems to take delight in confirmation that both Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater and Marathon are going to be on the Xbox Series S/X at launch.

It wouldn't even surprise us if they'll both be part of the Xbox Game Pass as well.

Of course, multi-platform availability is always good for the consumer, until, of course, bugs and issues related to stretching developer resources thin across multiple platforms result in a subpar version of the game at launch.

, prove focusing an entire development studio's efforts towards making a game run well on a single platform is a good idea. This is also why the older Metal Gear Solid games, especially Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriot, were so polished and optimized.

Don't forget, Hideo Kojima isn't involved in the project. It's hard to believe that Konami can pull off a remake of arguably the best entry in the franchise after what happened with Metal Gear Survive.

Ultimately, these are premature concerns that Konami can disprove by giving us a complete product, much like how the Big Boss is widely considered as the greatest soldier ever to grace the battlefield.

Konami didn't confirm when Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is coming out on the PS5, Xbox Series S/X, and the PC. But, don't be surprised if it will take the studio until 2025 to feel confident in its launch. Until then, Konami is giving us the Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 1 later this year. We can only assume that a Vol. 2 is coming that could include the other games in the franchise.

Fingers crossed, this will finally bring Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriot outside of the PlayStation 3 for the first time ever.
