Marvel’s Secret Invasion might have been delayed to June

The new rumor comes after Disney+ listed the TV series as "coming soon," amidst rumors of a major reshuffling of MCU shows and movies.

The TV series was originally scheduled to premiere in early 2023.

Marvel has been on a spree, delaying its slate of upcoming TV shows on Disney+ and now a new rumor suggests the studio may delay the highly anticipated Secret Invasion to June.

According to established insider KC Walsh, Secret Invasion is being pushed back from May to June this year. Walsh shared that June will be the final release date and the series will not get pushed back to a later date.

The new release date has been corroborated by The Cosmic Circus’ Alex P. The insider responds to a tweet asking if Secret Invasion is releasing in May with a gif of The Office’s Jim Halpert shaking his head.

This new scoop comes on the heels of Disney+ updating the listing for Secret Invasion to “coming soon.” The Samuel L. Jackson-led TV series is reportedly one of only two projects coming to the streaming service this year. Tom Hiddleston’s Loki Season 2 is the other confirmed project for this year.

Delayed Marvel movies and TV shows

Emelia Clarke is set to make her Marvel debut in Secret Invasion.

Secret Invasion is not the only project being delayed for Marvel. The studio has pushed back a number of projects slated for release in Phase 5.

Marvel recently announced that The Marvels has been delayed to November 2023. This is the second delay for the movie starring Brie Larson. The movie was originally slated to release in February before being moved to July and then finally settling on a November premiere.

It was also recently reported that Marvel’s What If…?! has also been delayed to the first quarter of 2024. The animated anthology series was also slated for release this year.

There are also reports that Echo and Agatha: Coven of Chaos are both coming in early 2024. Plus, there’s doubts that the Black Panther spin-off series will premiere this year as scheduled.

KC Walsh shared that the June release date for Secret Invasion will likely be final.

Marvel’s Kevin Feige and Disney’s Bob Iger both confirmed their plans to have fewer TV Shows to focus on the quality of the projects over their quantity.

The delay should be a welcome relief for fans who are overwhelmed by the sheer number of Marvel movies and TV shows. The additional time will also allow the studio to make sure that each project lives up to the expectations of fans. Marvel has reportedly been suffering from a shortage of manpower due to the tight release schedules.

Marvel has not yet confirmed the release schedules of any of the upcoming TV shows on Disney+.
