Lords of the Fallen is one of the titles gamers anticipate the most this year. Last month, the game's publisher, CI Games, released an extended gameplay trailer that had gamers buzzing with excitement. The studio has now followed that with a story trailer at the ongoing Gamescom convention in Germany.
The two-and-a-half-minute trailer opens with a foreboding scene that shows a man walking through a swamp. We get the vibe he is hiding from something: his breathing is heavy and we can hear growls in the distance. We are correct, as only a few heartbeats later, he comes face to face with a monstrous being that impales him with an extraordinarily long claw and then slices off his head.
Over the next few minutes, we hear the demon God Adyr talk about the motivation behind his actions as we're treated to jaw-dropping fight scenes that quicken our anticipation of its release. Like the extended gameplay trailer, Lords of the Fallen's story trailer is a joy to watch.
If CI Games delivers on it, then our anticipation will not be in vain. But then, the question is can they?
Lords of the Fallen's description gives a better idea of what to expect from the title: After an age of the cruellest tyranny, the demon God, Adyr, was finally defeated. But Gods… do not fall forever. Now, aeons later, Adyr's resurrection draws nigh. As one of the fabled Dark Crusaders, journey through both the realms of the living and the dead in this expansive RPG experience, featuring colossal boss battles, fast challenging combat, thrilling character encounters, and deep, immersive storytelling. Lords of the Fallen's story trailer has heightened anticipation for the game.
