Crimson Desert has a new gameplay trailer and it's impressive

Pearl Abyss' Crimson Desert is set on the same world as Black Desert and has been stuck in development for many years.

Crimson Desert is an open-world action-adventure title and it looks very promising.

Pearl Abyss has finally given us a sneak peek of its upcoming action-adventure video game Crimson Desert. On Tuesday, during Gamescom's Opening Night Live event, the South Korean studio unveiled a new gameplay trailer that featured footage from the game's build.

The Crimson Desert trailer is chockful with features. The game has everything you would expect from a modern open-world game, for better or for worse. You can ride a horse, go fishing, arm wrestle, go bounty hunting, explore exotic locations, and lay siege to castles, among other things.

Gamers will especially enjoy the combat. It is exciting, it is imaginative, and it is diverse. The protagonist is skillful at hand to hand combat and sword fighting. He is also adept at using a bow and arrow.

We even see him demonstrate magic skills, as there is a scene where he leaps off a house mid stride and transforms into a flock of birds before flying away. In short, there are many things to like about the game.

If Pearl Abyss can deliver on what they showed us in the trailer, we have no doubt that Crimson Desert will be a massive hit.

Mind you, we aren't the only ones with this opinion. All over social media, gamers have expressed delight at the game's mechanics. Many have also expressed their anticipation of the title and urged Pearl Abyss to deliver on the trailer's promise.

Crimson Desert has been in the works for some time. Pearl Abyss first told us about the game in 2020 during that year's The Game Awards. One year later, the studio put the project on indefinite delay.

There is currently no release date for Crimson Desert but we believe it is not far off.

Since then, there hasn't been any concrete update on the game until last week when Geoff Keighly correctly called that Pearl Abyss would debut the trailer at Gamescom.

Crimson Desert's description reads, "An epic of survival with a focus on immersive storytelling and intense action, Crimson Desert follows a group of struggling mercenaries and the many characters who cross their paths in the vast continent of Pywel."

It continues, "This is a world where heroes are made, but not without incredible hardship, pain and perseverance."

At the moment, Pearl Abyss hasn't provided a release date for Crimson Desert. When that changes, you can be sure we will let you know of it. However, the game will be available on the PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S if the studio's original plan stands.
