Is Rockstar releasing Red Dead Redemption Remastered in November?

A remaster of the first game, which originally came out in 2010, won't make the blow for ending the support for Red Dead Online sting any less but it should help tide audiences over while waiting for the next big thing. On the flip side, you can't blame Rockstar for being careful. The last time it released a remaster of a classic game, it got a lot of flack for it. Granted, Rockstar only has itself to blame for assigning the remasters of the three games responsible for its current status as a premiere developer to a relatively small Florida-based subsidiary that specializes in doing mobile ports.

Still, backlash is backlash. Neither Rockstar nor the GTA Remastered Trilogy, has yet to fully recover, even after all this time.

However, there's a silver lining to this. If, in any case, Rockstar will release a remaster of Red Dead Redemption in October or November with the A team assigned to it, then it can only mean one thing - it's confident enough about the quality of GTA 6 that it's willing to take the risk.

This is certainly one way of looking at things, especially if we start believing all of the recent rumors and leaks.

Coincidentally, August is a big month for the gaming industry. Gamescom, which runs from August 23 through 27, will host a handful of exhibitors, including but not limited to Activision Blizzard and Nintendo.

If nothing else, an official trailer for the Red Dead Redemption Remastered (we're hoping Rockstar comes up with a better name for this that isn't a handful) could drop right in the middle of the event.

Red Dead Redemption might lack the modern niceties of Red Dead Redemption 2, which means that it will feel smaller and clunkier compared to its successor. However, it's a piece of gaming history that modern fans deserve to play. The game is trapped in the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 (unless you get Xbox Game Pass Ultimate on your Xbox One or Xbox Series S/X). The worst thing that can happen is we get a prettier and shinier version of a decades-old title even if it plays exactly the same.
