There's no rest for the wicked, it seems. Whereas Larian Studios, among others, are looking forward to taking a much-needed break following the release of Baldur's Gate 3 on the Xbox platform later this year, Insomniac Games will be just as busy as ever even after releasing Marvel's Spider-Man 2 on October 20.

Having built a solid reputation with titles such as Sunset Overdrive, Resistance, and most notably, the Spider-Man series, Insomniac has steadily become one of the video game industry's most reliable developers.

After the resounding successes of two Spider-Man games and with a third in the pipeline, Sony's trust in Insomniac and its ability to deliver is evident in handing them the Wolverine project. This represents a significant leap, especially since Wolverine hasn't graced the gaming world with a dedicated title since the X-Men Origins: Wolverine game in 2008, memorable for its M-rated, limb-slicing gameplay.

While important details regarding Marvel's Wolverine remain under wraps, it's highly believed it will be ready to launch on the PlayStation 5 as early as next year.
