Grand Theft Auto 5 technically didn't have any DLC. Grand Theft Auto Online is a separate "free" feature to Grand Theft Auto 5. It wasn't until lately that fans could buy GTA Online separately from GTA 5. But, if we're being honest, you're better off buying the base game if you haven't played it yet.
Having said that, Rockstar has released DLCs before like the ones for GTA 4 and many are well-loved. After skipping it entirely with GTA 5, much to the delight of fans, Rockstar appears to be taking a different approach with GTA 6.
According to Tez2, Rockstar is targeting a holiday 2024 release for the next GTA game. However, this is a date the studio has "pushed back multiple times." The same source is claiming that Rockstar will likely push the game back again to early 2025 but that's it.
Finally, to meet the said deadline, Rockstar is cutting content from the base game and repurposing it as post-launch DLC.
