Horizon Forbidden West delayed to 2022 according to recent reports

Now, there's reason to believe that Hulst won't be able to fulfill his earlier promise.

According to separate reports from Jeff Grubb and Bloomberg, Forbidden West has been delayed to Q1 2022.

In addition, Grubb claims to have come across some brand new information. He is suggesting that Sony is going to hold an event in September when they will confirm the Forbidden West delay, before announcing the other games that are coming to the PS4 and PS5 this fall and beyond.

If true, then it wouldn't be too surprising.

There is a long list of games intended to launch in 2021 and that have been pushed back by months, if not an entire year because of the COVID-19 pandemic. We also explained in an earlier article why it wouldn't be so bad to delay Forbidden West to 2022.

Even so, it's unfortunate that the majority of these games are high-profile and much-anticipated releases. This includes exclusives such as the God of War sequel and Gran Turismo 7, among others.

If it's any consolation, it's not like the PS4 and PS5 are lacking exclusives for gamers to sink their teeth into this year. In addition to Death Stranding Director's Cut and Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut, players can also look forward to Deathloop.

There's also the Abandoned game from BLUE BOX Game Studios that's been taking audiences for quite the ride these past few weeks.
