High on Life is definitely coming to the PlayStation

Mind you, High on Life is no minor blip on the gaming radar. This bizarre, first-person shooter, with a premise that features an intergalactic bounty hunter wielding living, foul-mouthed guns to fight aliens, exploded onto the scene, smashing three Xbox Game Pass records: biggest launch of 2022, the biggest third-party game launch ever, and the biggest single-player launch of all time. Not too shabby for a game that was greeted with a lukewarm critical reception, with its humor, similar to the style of the creator's hit animated show, Rick & Morty, proving to be a somewhat divisive element.

If you're a fan of Rick & Morty, this game's humor is going to feel like slipping into a comfy pair of slippers. If not, it might feel more like stepping on Lego. Nevertheless, for PlayStation gamers, this could be a fresh and exciting addition to the console's library.

Since it was founded by Justin Roiland, the co-creator of 'Rick & Morty', Squanch Games has produced some unusual titles, with High on Life being no exception. Roiland recently stepped down from the studio following domestic violence charges - the charges were later dropped - which makes the upcoming DLC, High on Knife, all the more intriguing as it represents a new chapter for Squanch Games, potentially without Roiland's distinctive influence.

With no official confirmation from PlayStation or Squanch Games yet, all we can do for now is sit tight and watch this space.
