Nearly a decade after Sony first announced its intention to announce The Last of Us, all of our wishes are about to come true.
After getting its first trailer last month and a release window in July, HBO has "confirmed" when the live-action adaptation of The Last of Us is coming out and it's pretty soon.
Technically, HBO hasn't come forward with an official announcement yet. Instead, the entry for the show on the HBO Max reveals that it will premiere on January 15. VGC later verified the source and can attest to its legitimacy. The site reports a "senior source with knowledge of the show's release plans" corroborated the rumors and that the early listing is a mistake and an official reveal is still scheduled for later this week.
Coincidentally, The Last of Us Part 1 was also leaked hours ahead of its official reveal back in June.
