The Last of Us is one of the best video games ever. Naughty Dog released The Last of Us back in 2013 right at the tail end of the PlayStation 3's lifecycle. It was an overwhelming success among fans and critics alike. The game successfully married a gripping narrative with well-executed gameplay to create one of the best-selling games of all time.

Since then, Naughty Dog has ported the game over to the PS4 and released a sequel. There are also rumors of a PS5 remake currently being in development.

Having said that, it was only a matter of time before some studio decided to pick up the story of The Last of Us and make a movie or a TV series based on it. The latter is exactly what's happening with HBO's live-action adaptation of the award-winning two-game video game franchise.

HBO first announced The Last of Us TV series back in March 2020 before landing its main characters in February 2021. Fast forward to today and HBO has finally released the first-ever image of The Last of Us TV show. As you might expect, it's every bit as harrowing and amazing as you'd expect.
