The divine - in more ways than the literal - duo of Aziraphale and Crowley might just be gracing our screens once again as whispers of a third season for Good Omens begin growing louder. Fans of the fantastical series, based on the literary works of Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett, have been anticipating a follow-up, and they might just be in luck.
Though nothing is set in stone yet, the stars seem to be aligning for another celestial escapade. Michael Sheen and David Tennant, who brought the angel-demon bromance to life, are reportedly on board, with their options picked up in anticipation of the green light, as per a Deadline report. This prolific pair has captured the hearts of audiences, making the prospect of their return a welcome one.
However, not all is as it was; Douglas Mackinnon, the director behind the first two seasons, will not be returning. News of his departure was confirmed by Gaiman, who stated that Mackinnon was moving on to other projects. What projects these are, nobody knows.
Good Omens revolves around an angel named Aziraphale and a demon named Crowley, who have lived on Earth for centuries and grown rather fond of the place. However, they become aware of the impending Biblical apocalypse and are determined to prevent it due to how attached they became to their lives on Earth.
