Most people thought Bill Goldberg had already retired from wrestling after his historic run in the late 90s and early 2000s. Then, 2016 came and Goldberg came back to the WWE, which saw him be one of the WWE's top guys until his run ended at Elimination Chamber 2022 at the hands of Roman Reigns. Since then, we haven't heard much from Goldberg since even though he technically still had a contract with the WWE until recently.
Now, it appears Goldberg still hasn't forgotten that Vince McMahon owes him one final match.
Here's what the WWE Hall of Famer said about his agreement with the WWE chairman as part of his now-expired contract: Vince McMahon and I had a handshake understanding that, you know, after the Roman Reigns match I would have a proper retirement match. And, you know, that hasn't come to fruition through them. So, therefore… You know, nobody puts a stamp on my career. Nobody tells me when I'm done, period. When somebody tells me that, you know, I kinda like to fight against it. I like to do things my own way and I go out my own way. And I certainly don't go out, you know, under Roman Reigns, you know, three weeks after I've had COVID and agreed to a match." https://youtu.be/itZ4aLiE7xY
And, well, you kind of don't blame Goldberg for wanting one final run.
