Today is a monumental day as it is when Sony finally answered the question, "is God of War: Ragnarok coming out this year?"
Santa Monica Studio's follow-up to 2018's God of War is one of the most highly anticipated games of this generation. After the PS4's best-selling title brought back a less vengeful but more grumpy Kratos, the Ghost of Sparta will continue his deadly tour through the Norse pantheon alongside his son, Atreus.
In late June, there were multiple talks that Sony would announce God of War: Ragnarok's release date on June 30 only to cancel its plans last minute. Some theorized that Sony will use God of War: Ragnarok as the highlight of an upcoming State of Play showcase.
Unfortunately, this didn't happen. Just like when Baldur jumped out of nowhere to ambush Kratos and Atreus, Sony barged into everyone's social media feeds by confirming that God of War Ragnarok will come out on November 9.
