Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 6: Release Date, Trailer, and More

Fortnite has supported solo players since, well, forever. Even so, there's a difference between playing a game with 99 other people in the same map solo and a true single-player experience. The latter is what is going to be introduced in Season 6 of Fortnite Chapter 2.

At the start of the new season, players will go through a single-player experience that Epic Games calls as Zero Crisis Finale.

The said single-player campaign will offer some much deeper story context as to what's happening in the game. It will see players see Agent Jones' mission come to a conclusion, an undertaking that he started way back in December of 2020.

Epic Games described the end of Season 5 as something that will "shape reality as we know it", perhaps alluding to the same thing that happened right at the end of Chapter 1 where a black hole created an entirely new island. But, of course, that's all speculation at this point.

We could or we could not have a new island or a redesigned one. Either way, we'll have to wait to see and find out which is the case.

From what we can tell though, the Zero Crisis Finale will replace the end-of-season live event that usually attracts millions of players from all around the globe. However, this doesn't mean that there won't be a community element anymore. Players can still watch the mission being played online in real-time once it premieres. What's Next for Fortnite? Even though the past few seasons saw a huge number of crossovers come to Fortnite, many fans couldn't feel that they were lacking a bit in community events. Although Epic has yet to confirm what kind of events fans should expect to come to Fortnite in the coming seasons, it is possible that such concerns did not fall on deaf ears.

With that said, it's impossible to tell what's next for Fortnite at this point.

Most recently, we saw the likes of Marvel's Ant-Man, as well as Street Fighter's Chun-li and Ryu, all make their way to Fortnite. There doesn't seem to be a pattern here. Or, at least, not one that we're seeing clearly.

Either way, one thing we're sure of is that Epic Games should have a couple more surprises up their proverbial sleeves come Season 6 and beyond.
