DC Comics' The Flash Zooms Into Fortnite!

The-Flash-Fortnite-Speed-Force

The Fastest Man Alive is the newest addition to the ever-growing Fortnite roster. The Flash has been known to use the Speed Force to break dimensional, temporal, and multiversal barriers. But this time, the Scarlet Speedster arrives in Zero Point to join the battle for survival in Fortnite.

Previously only available for winners of the Flash Cup event on February 10, 2021, the Flash skin and gear are now available for all Fortnite players (for a cost, of course)!

The Flash Cup

Epic Games held a Duos tournament called the Flash Cup. The mechanics were simply that you needed to play 10 matches within a window of 3 hours from the event’s beginning. The top performing Duos in each region had the opportunity to win a Hunter outfit of the Flash and the associated back bling. Only level 30 and higher player account levels could participate in the event.

The Flash Bundle

Thankfully, the rest of the Fortnite population did not have to wait long. On February 13, Epic Games confirmed the arrival of the Flash Pack. The Flash Pack was subsequently released to the Fortnite Item Shop.

The Flash Bundle includes the outfit, Flash logo back bling, Lightning bolt pickaxe, and the Quick Bite emote!

The Flash Bundle includes the following:

  • The Flash Outfit: The hunter skin of The Flash is based on the popular CW TV Series. Thus, this is the Barry Allen Flash (not Wally West or the classic Jay Garrick). Specifically, the design is derived from the Season 4 version of the Flash’s red and yellow suit.
  • Speed Force Back Bling: The back bling included for the Flash Bundle is the famous Flash logo. It features electric hologram-like effects.
  • Speed Force Slashers Pickaxe: As with previous hunter skin bundles, an exclusive design for the pickaxe tool is included. In The Flash’s case, it is a couple of lightning bolts joined together to look like a pickaxe.
  • Special Emote (Quick Bite): The Flash Bundle includes a special emote that depicts the hunter signaling for a short snack break. It then cuts to the hunter dashing and getting a burger. A second action has the hunter reading a magazine. And the last part of the emote has the hunter finishing up a soda.

The Flash Bundle's special emote Quick Bite has the hunter dash a few times to grab a snack.

Players can get these items separately or as a single purchase. Note that the participants of the previous Flash Cup did not receive the Pickaxe or the Quick Bite emote. Interestingly, the bundle does not include a skin for the glider. The price for the Flash Bundle is 1,500 V-Bucks.

More DC Universe Skins for Season 5?

The Flash is only the newest hunter skin based on the DC Comics Universe characters. Previous hunter skins had Batman, Catwoman, and Harley Quinn. There was also fellow CW-inspired design, the Green Arrow from the Arrow TV show. Given how Chapter 2, Season 5 of Fortnite centers on Agent Jonesy recruiting hunters from other realities after the Galactus Event that ended Season 4, could the Flash’s arrival herald more DC superheroes arriving?

Could the rest of the Justice League be joining Batman and friends on Fortnite?

Fortnite has yet to include Superman, Wonder Woman, and the rest of the Justice League. Could it tie in to the HBO Max release of the Zack Snyder Justice League? Keep an eye out for more Fortnite news!
