Focus Entertainment reveals Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden trailer

From the trailer, we know that the game will be set in New Eden in 1695. Gamers will get to play as Antea Duarte and Red mac Raith. The two are Banishers that hunt lingering ghosts and specters to protect the living.

In one of their missions, Antea is fatally wounded and becomes a spirit, afterwards, the two must find a way to liberate her from her new form.

"Immerse yourself in a beautiful, intimate and powerful story between two fated lovers. As Banishers, enter the lives of New Eden's communities and solve haunting cases in a mystical, lore-rich world plagued with supernatural creatures and ancient secrets," the game description says.

Players will use "Antea's spiritual powers and Red's arsenal to defeat and banish the souls tormenting the living." Like most of the Don't Nod games, decisions and dialogue will dramatically impact the story and the inhabitants of New Eden.

In the trailer, we see that Red is exploring one of the game's areas. Antea suddenly appears to warn him of the presence of a Bonewalker. The pair then attacks the supernatural creature, presumably to banish it.

Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden will be launching on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S in the latter part of 2023.
