The Game Awards saw more than fifty games showcased and/or revealed, but most of them were sequels or belonged to established franchises. One game that stood out as an entirely new IP is Banisher: Ghosts of New Eden by Focus Entertainment and Don't Nod.

Focus Entertainment and Don't Nod revealed the first trailer of their upcoming new title at the awards show. The cinematic trailer focus on the "Banishers", a group of ghost-hunters that protect the living. There is a short gameplay footage at the very end of the trailer that looks very promising.

According to Focus Entertainment, Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden is an action RPG made in partnership with Don't Nod. The studio is best known for Life is Strange and Vampyr.
