The first reactions to The Flash from CinemaCon are in

Now, The Flash will premiere to audiences who are likely to hesitate to invest in a franchise that's already sunk down to the depths of Atlantis.

Despite the fact that The Flash could be as good as what critics have said several times, the fact remains that it's a movie that's coming out for no reason other than because it's already completed. In a way, it's just like the canceled Batgirl film - so much ado about nothing.

This isn't to say most, like us, won't watch it. You can't just pass up the chance to watch a film that James Gunn and Tom Cruise have praised.

However, you can't help but wonder if the DCEU could've been saved if The Flash premiered much earlier than its current release date.

Ultimately, one takeaway from the positive early reactions is that Warner Bros. Discovery dropped the ball with the DCEU. We're hoping James Gunn can do better, starting with Superman: Legacy.

For now, DC fans can look forward to what could've been when The Flash hits theaters on June 16.
