The Flash test screening scores similar to Dark Knight trilogy

Despite all the controversy surrounding the lead actor, it appears that The Flash's debut on the silver screen is doing well among audiences.

Christopher Nolan's Batman movies remain the peak of DC Comics' live-action adaptations. But, it appears that the DC Extended Universe might finally have a critical hit on its hands.

Collectively, the Dark Knight trilogy made more than billion at the global box office.

Years after trying to satisfy critics with a proper live-action outing, Warner Bros. finally has a champion for the DCEU in the form of The Flash. As it turns out, despite all the controversy surrounding Ezra Miller, the film is actually quite good.

In fact, test screening scores suggest that The Flash could end up being just as good as the Dark Knight trilogy. However, until The Flash is available to watch in theaters on June 23 after multiple delays, we're better off holding off our expectations.

The DCEU is in desperate need of a win. The struggling cinematic universe's highest-rated movie so far, James Gunn's The Suicide Squad, didn't do so well at the global box office. To make matters worse, Shazam! Fury of the Gods isn't hitting the big screen later this year as it was delayed alongside Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. With Batgirl officially canceled and employees holding funeral screenings for the film, the only upcoming DCEU movie is Black Adam.

We're hoping that this positive development encourages Warner Bros. Discovery to release The Flash earlier.

Considering that Black Adam and Batgirl are believed to have garnered the same audience test scores, we're not expecting Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's DCEU debut to win awards or critical acclaim.

With Warner Bros. still holding on to The Flash, we're hoping that Miller's solo DCEU outing can make at least double its reported $250 million budget.

As for the non-DCEU comic book adaptations by Warner Bros., The Batman might have been greenlit now that Mattson Tomlin is co-writing the film's script alongside Matt Reeves. In addition to this, Joker 2 is coming out on October 4, 2024, as per Lady Gaga.
