Ewan McGregor's Star Wars role as Obi-Wan Kenobi is a fan favorite. So, it stands to reason that fans have looked forward to seeing him play his iconic character once again in a spin-off TV series titled simply as Obi-Wan Kenobi. After months of anticipation, Disney finally gave audiences what they were asking for with the first Obi-Wan Kenobi trailer showing Ewan back as Obi-Wan Kenobi for the first time since 2005.

An earlier report confirmed that Obi-Wan Kenobi was getting its first trailer some time this week, and this is exactly what happened. While the nearly two-minute-long trailer didn't reveal much, it contained enough information for fans to dissect for the time being. Case in point, the trailer confirms that at least parts of the show will pick up exactly where 2005's Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith left off, with Obi-Wan on the run from the Galactic Empire who is hell-bent on hunting him down.

With 19 years separating the events between Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope, the upcoming Disney+ spin-off show will have a lot of ground to cover. But, while much of the show remains a mystery, it is confirmed that Hayden Christensen will return as Darth Vader, which suggests that the story will include an eventual confrontation between the former best friends.
