But, before anything else - spoiler alert!

A wild non-de-aged Mark Hamill on set as Luke Skywalker just appeared

Believe it or not, there were fans who wanted to recast the younger Luke Skywalker.

For Star Wars fans who haven't watched The Mandalorian yet, please don't say that we didn't warn you.

The latest season of the Pedro Pascal-led Star Wars spin-off TV series ended on a high note, with Luke Skywalker dropping in to save the day. What was perhaps the biggest surprise was that Mark Hamill reprised his iconic role, albeit he was de-aged to fit the timeline of the series.

Now, just a few weeks after set photos of an older Hamill in the set of The Mandalorian appeared, Disney has offered fans a more extensive look at what went on behind the scenes.

Disney confirmed The Mandalorian season 2 finale back in July, with the episode officially going under the name of Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian.

In the first-ever clip released for the said episode, Mark Hamill appears to play the part of Luke Skywalker. However, Disney used a combination of both practical and special effects to make this happen. For the physical part, a stunt double was used for some of the fight scenes.

Meanwhile, Hollywood magic was used to de-age Hamill and make him appear as how he should have looked back in the 1980s, as The Mandalorian is set just a few years after the Return of the Jedi in the official Star Wars timeline.

Audiences have known for a while that Disney put some serious effort into making Hamill appear as great as he did in the Season 2 finale of The Mandalorian. However, the Disney Gallery episode marks the first time that Disney will show exactly how it made this happen.

Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian is set to drop on August 25. In the meantime, Star Wars fans can watch The Bad Batch, which recently concluded its 16-episode first season last August 13. After this, fans can look forward to at least two more Star Wars series on Disney Plus for later this year in The Book of Boba Fett and Visions.
