Save for the mouthful of a title for Tom Cruise's latest outing as Ethan Hunt, the first trailer for Mission: Impossible 7 confirms nothing new.

By that, we mean that Cruise is still up to his usual reality-defying stunts that, for some reason, now involve him jumping over a cliff while on a motorcycle, as Ethan Hunt tries to escape from someone.

So, yeah, it's business as usual for Cruise.

After screening at CinemaCon last month, the world has finally got a chance to see the two-minute promotional spot and we understand why the budget for the movie ballooned to an absurd amount.

It definitely looks like the franchise tentpole wants to give the series a proper send-off

True enough, the opening moments of the trailer see Henry Czerny's Eugene Kittridge warning Hunt about his days "fighting for the greater good" being over, setting an ominous but also fitting tone. As one of the oldest characters in the franchise continues with his monologue, the preview then treats us to a series of shots featuring Hunt crashing through the streets of Rome, somehow avoiding his pursuers while on a yellow Fiat 500, and so much more.
