Just in case you missed it, Square Enix has released the first of two demos for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.

Easily the most anticipated JRPG of the year, the sequel picks up following the events of Final Fantasy 7 Remake (or Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade, for those who joined later or bought the expansion), with the party now venturing outside of Midgar.

To encourage fans to play through the demo (as if they needed any reason to do it), Square Enix is giving away bonuses for spending roughly two hours exploring Cloud Strife's past.

The "Fall of a Hero in Nibelheim" takes place early in FF7 Rebirth as a flashback sequence during Cloud time as a SOLDIER. Without spoiling anything, the events of what would later become known as "the Nilbeheim Incident" will set into motion the story of the entire Final Fantasy 7 Remake trilogy.

Aside from getting the chance to play as Sephiroth and admire his awesome white locks, the developers are rewarding players with a completed save data with the following bonuses: Kupo charm Survival set These aren't game-breaking items, by any means. But since they're free, you may as well get them if you've already pre-ordered Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth or you plan on playing the game later on.
