Assassin's Creed Mirage is no longer just, well, a mirage.
A week after confirming the existence of the Basim-led Assassin's Creed installment, Ubisoft officially unveiled a trailer for the upcoming "back-to-basics" stealth-action title that's set to come out sometime next year.
The trailer sees Mr. Main Character Energy become a master assassin after starting out life as a scoundrel and street thief. Basim Ibn Ishaq can be heard pledging the familiar Assasin's Creed oath, otherwise known as The Creed, as he stalks and stabs one enemy after another. The game takes place decades before 2020's Valhalla and will focus on the series' stealth gameplay, similar to the first set of Assassin's Creed games.
While the Mirage trailer is new, the itself isn't. We first heard about Mirage when it was still "Rift" and originally meant to come out later this year. The game, which started life as an expansion to Valhalla, was part of Ubisoft's slate of delayed games that also included Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, among several others.
